Three Englishmen have developed a pair of shoes made entirely from waste on the beach, as part of their project “Everything You Buy is Rubbish”. An alternative to flip-flops…
If you’re the kind of one who gets tired quickly of your new shoes? Here is a project that would make you want to keep them longer. The recycling craft and recycling are a global trend, but it is in the UK that three friends, Charles Duffy, William Gubbins and Billy Turvey have launched the project “Everything You Buy is Rubbish“. Their idea: Make you aware of the consequences of consumerism on the planet with the sole aim of reintegrating the waste back into the cycle of consumption. These three artists have created a pair of shoes made entirely of trash found on the beaches. The first stage of the project is therefore the removal of industrial treasures sadly abandoned on the east and west coasts of England. The plastic waste is then combined by melting it in the oven and then pressed to create a disc that will be cut in order to achieve a pair of shoes. Result: An Eco-friendly, rather an artistic approach in favor of our planet. You would be able to survey the beach throughout the year for the good of the environment and to make your own shoes. If you want to give it a try, watch the video presentation of the project:
