It is true that for some reasons, the French local administration always seems compelled to decorate the roundabouts and other communal spaces with monuments of questionable taste. While it may be difficult to always have monuments of exceptional quality yet still, they must be better than these ugly works that destroy the beauty of the landscape.
- Roundabout “Snails” Lorignac (Charente-Maritime)
Conceived by Jean-Luc Plé, this scene was intended to pay tribute to the Charente cagouille. Many tourist would find these snails as repugnant.Source Photo : maurtimer

Have you ever seen a giant sausage riding a donut?Source Photo : lumieresdelaville
- Church of St. Therese, Metz (Moselle)

- Memorial to French resistance to Nazis in La Courneuve (Seine-Saint-Denis)
Not at all! We do not pay tribute to the members of French Resistance with an ugly pink granite monument. Note, however, that the movement of the lady in the bottom right is slightly confusing.Source Photo : Lepoint

Some of us would be tormented by the questions: Why a leaning roof with trees on it?And above all, why this horrible red brick?Credits Photo (creative commons): Kootshisme
- The arrows of cathedrals, Chartres Orleans
Well, if you only see the big ugly spikes pointing to the sky, do not panic, this is normal.Credits Photo (creative commons): Robert Cutts

There is no doubt that there was some reason to this statue, but then frankly you have screwed Yvon.Source Photo : lumieresdelaville

- Nostradamus statue, Salon-de-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône)
It’s really not cool for Nostradamus anyway.Source Photo : Lepoint
- The yellow hand, Chatellerault (Vienna)
In addition, to the rather painful yellow color. it might have been in good taste not to represent the cars crashing against the ground on a roundabout.Source Photo : cycloretraite
All these monuments have really surprised us. And, if you know any other such monuments anywhere in the world, please feel free to share.
