In recent years, we have seen more and more artists use modern technology to express their artworks. One of the latest such examples is Alex Kiessling, who has combined his art with robotics to give us as an incredible technical performance. He made two robots, located hundreds of miles away, to draw what exactly he was drawing on canvas.
Alex Kiessling, aged 33, is an Austrian artist living in Vienna. He had managed to give an exceptional technical and artistic performance. He used two robots for this purpose, one is located in London and the other in Berlin to draw the same thing that he was drawing.
In fact, the infrared sensors have been used to detect the movements of the artists while drawing. The signals generated are then simultaneously relayed to both robots at Trafalgar Square and Bretscheidplatz. Hence, robots draw the same thing that he was drawing. This unique performance required more than 6 months of hard work to perfect the hardware and software used in this technique.

During a conference, Alex said : “What have these machines achieved? For my part, I believe that in reality it is more than just clone copies”. The three versions of these drawings (one by him and the other two by robots) were collected and exposed in Vienna and London .
