An artist adorns the streets of several cities with huge drawings of colored sand. We make you discover these incredible and rather hypnotics artworks.
Since 2006, Joe Mangrum, has been adorning the streets of New York, Chicago and San Francisco with fabulous but temporary drawings. One of the remarkable aspects of his drawings is their spontaneous nature. His tool for these drawings is bag filled with colored sand. A graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago, the artist has created nearly 550 paintings in recent years.
Paintings of Joe have been exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery, the Museum of Arts and Design in New York, and the Asiatic Society. He has also made a appearance recently in the Sesame Street.
With their psychedelic patterns and vibrant colors, these designs have dazzled us and we’d love to see in the other cities as well. Would you like to see these incredible ephemeral drawings in the streets of your city?
