An American High School Student Makes A 3D printed Prosthetic Hand For A 9 Year Old Boy

A 17 year old American High School student has changed the life of a 9 year old little boy born without one hand. He has created a functional prosthetic hand using 3D printing and has given the little boy the ability to use his right hand. We tell you this beautiful story where 3D printing technology has found a use in the service of a disabled child.

Mason Wilde has done a great service to his neighbour Matthew who was born with only an inch of his right hand. The 3D model of the hand had been made a year earlier by Richard Van As and Ivan Owen. Mason just downloaded the file and made some little modifications to customize it for the little boy. When the hand was printed the results were amazing. The little boy could use his right hand for the first time.

We were delighted to learn that a 3D printer has enabled a little child to use his hand normally. Kindness shown by the neighbor boy is really very touching. We hope that in future this technology can facilitate the life of people with disabilities.Do you think that priority should be given to use 3D printing technology for the service of the humanity and health?
