Africa is one of the poorest regions of the globe. But still this does not prevent it from offering some of the most beautiful scenic views of our planet. This is particular true for Sierra Leone, a country too long ravaged by war that subjugated the beauty and friendliness of its people. We present this beautiful country and its people.
Like many states of Africa, the Sierra Leone achieved its independence very late in 1961 precisely. From there, the country experienced a very important period of political and social instability, including massacres and a devastating civil war. Now pacified – at least in theory – by the UN, the territory located between Liberia and Guinea still suffers from the ravages of diamond trafficking.
In addition to of its mineral wealth, the area is home to beautiful scenery, thanks to the presence of the Atlantic Ocean on its shores to the west of the country. In the interior, however, it overlooks a magnificent plateau forests.
The Sierra Leone really is a magnificent territory, typical of the African sub-Saharan West with its dense forests and equatorial climate. Would you like to visit this beautiful country one day.
