To materialize the dream of swimming like a dolphin, an aerospace engineer has devised a rigid hydrofoil-type fin known as Dol-Fin. Dolphins are really cute oceanic animals and many people have been trying to copy their style of swimming. For this purpose, an aerospace engineer has devised a rigid hydrofoil-type fin known as Dol-Fin. There are plenty of other swimming fins available but the engineer claims his fins are the most effective in giving sensation of swimming like a dolphin. The new fins are actually ‘Dynamic Oscillating Lateral’ fins which can be used in many applications like freediving and scuba diving. They might be used freely in numerous high level performances during the swimming sessions.
In all the different types of these fins, the feet are held strictly and connected with fins, an elastomer frame is used for this purpose. The use of the this suspension nylon frame allows to the up and down pitch of the fluke, ultimately giving the feelings of a real dolphin. Interestingly, the fins are made with aluminum.

In addition to the above stated benefits, the area of the fins is larger as compared with traditional monophins. The design of the fins is made more hydrodynamic because of its hydrofoil design. It is estimated that few versions of the Dol-Fins will be made in next few years however the designer is going to finish his Orca MK2 model. The anticipated model provides a streamlined design to make the people enjoy a quality freediving. One of the most important characteristics of the Dol-Fins is the use of incompressible material which does not alter its characteristics with different depth levels.
The inventor is planning to launch them in next six months with the starting price of $1200 for standard version and $680 for starting divers. There are multiple other designers who are also building such sort of fins to make the diving sports more exciting and fun.
