Kumi is Japanese artist with a gifted creativity. Using only small nails, a wooden plank and a single piece of black string, she is able to create beautiful portraits of stunning beauty and perfection.
Kumi Yamashita is a Japanese artist currently based in New York. In her various artworks, she has made different portraits using the unconventional means such as playing with of shadows and light, traces of pencil or torn fabric. In her latest project called Constellation, she planted several hundred nails on a wooden plank and then connected them using a single piece of black string.
