A photographer Jon Smith, native of Indiana, presents a series of colourful explosion photographs. To give colourful touch to the photos he filled the bulbs with some colourful materials like liquid paint, candy, caps, sand, flowers and beads. Afterwards, he exploded these bulbs in front of the camera to acquire lovely pattern of blended colours.
To make this idea of exploding colours within bulbs workable it took him two years, he combined ideas from science and art of photography together to achieve this task. After these efforts, photographer adopted a method in which he placed the bulb facing towards the lens of the camera and hit it with an air gun. Ultra fast flash assisted camera captured the exact time of occurrence of explosion and beautiful patterns.
