Almost 30 years after the explosion of the Chernobyl’s nuclear power plant, the Ukrainian city is still abandoned and continues to make headlines. Danny decided to capture his fascinating tour of the nearby city of Pripyat through a harrowing video filmed by a drone. A real horror film!
Danny Cooke is a British director who had the opportunity to visit Ukraine and explore the remains of the cities of Chernobyl and Pripyat which is famous for its abandoned amusement park. Using a drone, he was able to capture a video entitled “Postcards from Pripyat, Chernobyl“. This video captures both the frightening and fascinating sides of the ghost town that was, in 1986, scene of one of the biggest nuclear disasters that the world has ever known.
According to Danny Chernobyl is indeed not only one of the most dangerous but also fascinating places that he had opportunity to visit during his lifetime. He was quite pleased to meet many wonderful people living in that country. Especially, he much appreciated the work of his guide Yevgen with whom he had nearly spent a week exploring the cities of Chernobyl as well as Pripyat. He found the atmosphere of the cities serene but at the same time quite disturbing and stuffy. A testimony that fits perfectly with the landscape highlighted by the video of Danny.

It’s spooky! The video captured by Danny caused us some discomfort as the devastated landscape reminds us of the sad reality of the disaster that took place there … That said, this mini film is as fascinating as terrifying. Would you dare to venture into the remains of the city of Chernobyl, or do you prefer to stay away from this disaster area?
